From the Executive Director

February 2018

This month we are proud to once again partner with the Palm Springs Winter Classic Softball Tournament.

The 27th Annual Palm Springs Winter Classic Softball Tournament, which benefits AAP, will take place February 9-11, 2018. Presented in cooperation with the City of Palm Springs and the Palm Springs Gay Softball League, participating teams are members of the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance (NAGAAA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting amateur athletics for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community. All games are free to the public, and the tournament schedule will be posted at pswinterclassic.com soon.

Coming up next month is our annual “Hollywood’s Biggest Night” to benefit AAP-Food Samaritans. Year after year, this continues to be a magical evening of dining, drinks, and the greatest awards show on earth. Starting with the walk down the orange carpet and the flashbulbs going off as guests arrive, the energy in the room is electric and the excitement builds as we wait with anticipation for each winner to be announced. Everyone has such a wonderful time, the dinner is spectacular, and every year is more entertaining than the last. I hope you will join us on this special evening.

Don’t forget that acclaimed performer Gladys Knight will be our featured entertainment at the 2018 Evening Under the Stars gala on May 5. Tables and individual tickets are on sale now – and remember that the earlier you purchase your tickets, the better your placement at the event. Don’t delay – show your support today. Remember that a significant portion of your Evening Under the Stars ticket price is tax deductible. Buy your Evening Under the Stars tickets here.

Thank you for all that you do for AAP – Food Samaritans. Your continuing support of our program means so much to us.

Mark Anton, Executive Director
